1. General
Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with this Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and the Terms. You are responsible for activity through your account and API keys.
2. Prohibited uses
You may not:
- scrape the directory at scale, outside the API and published rate limits;
- reverse-engineer or attempt to reconstruct the underlying embeddings;
- resell API responses as a competing pairing/substitution product;
- use the API to train third-party AI models on Pair output without written consent;
- upload or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or hateful;
- interfere with the Service's operation (denial-of-service, exploitation of bugs);
- circumvent quotas by spinning up multiple free accounts;
- misrepresent the source of your API key to evade rate limits or attribution requirements.
3. No safety-critical use
The Pair embeddings are research artifacts. Do not use API output as the sole basis for decisions that affect human safety, regulated nutrition or medical claims, food allergen handling, or other safety-critical contexts. Verify with your own domain experts.
4. Attribution
Free-tier customers must visibly attribute pair.directory in any user-facing product powered by the API (e.g. "Pairings by pair.directory"). Paid tiers may waive attribution.
5. Enforcement
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate this AUP. Where possible we'll notify and give a chance to cure; where not (active abuse, security incidents) we may act immediately.
6. Reporting abuse
Email hello@pair.directory with details and any supporting evidence.
