1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of pair.directory (the "Site") and the Pair API (the "API"), together the "Service". By using the Service you accept these Terms. If you don't, don't use the Service.
2. Accounts
To use the API or claim a listing you create an account. You must provide accurate information, keep credentials and API keys secret, and are responsible for activity under your account.
You may not share accounts. If we suspect compromise we can suspend the account and rotate keys without notice.
3. Plans, payment, and refunds
Pricing for each tier is published on /pricing. Paid plans renew monthly or annually until cancelled. Overage charges apply above included quotas where the plan allows.
Refunds are at our discretion within 14 days of charge for unused service. Failed payments may pause API access after a grace period.
4. Acceptable use
Your use of the Service is also subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination.
5. Intellectual property
The directory content, embeddings, mode catalog, and API responses are licensed to you for use in your own product so long as you comply with these Terms. You may not resell the API as a competing product, redistribute the raw embeddings, or train third-party AI models on API output without written consent.
Free-tier users must display attribution to pair.directory in their product. Paid tiers may waive attribution.
6. Warranties and liability
The Service is provided "as is". We disclaim all warranties to the extent allowed by law, including fitness for a particular purpose. The Pair embeddings are research artifacts; do not use them as the sole basis for safety, regulatory, or medical decisions.
Our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the prior 12 months, or $100 USD if you used only the free tier.
7. Termination
You can cancel at any time from the billing page. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the AUP, with notice when reasonable.
8. Changes to these Terms
We'll post any material change on this page and update the version stamp at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
